Happy Halloween!

Only a few gTLDs were released this week and, unfortunately for Halloween enthusiasts, none of them quite fit in with the spirit of the season.

On Wednesday October 29th, the gTLD extension .ltda was released into the Sunrise Period. The gTLD .ltda refers to the Brazilian equivalent of an LLC and this extension aims to serve as a professional designation for businesses that are an LTDA.

Also, on Wednesday the extensions .market and .mortgage entered into a week- long Landrush Period in which people can purchase their desired domains early at a premium price. These domains will go into General Availability next week on November 5th.

Finally, the only extension to enter into the last General Availability phase was .saarland on Thursday October 30th. The .saarland extension is a cc-TLD that refers to the federal state of Saarland in Germany.

On Wednesday October 15th there was a strong military theme among several of the gTLDs that were launched into the Landrush Phase. Anyone can now show their support by purchasing .airforce, .army, and .navy this week at a premium price during this weeklong phase.

Also, on Wednesday October 15th two more extensions within the medical field were released in the Landrush Phase as well. These domains, .healthcare and .vet, will both go into the final General Availability phase on October 22nd.

Moreover, .top also entered into the Sunrise Phase on October 15th. This versatile domain will allow experts everywhere to distinguish themselves online as the best in their industry.

Finally, .soy, the Spanish phrase meaning “I am,” entered into the General Availability phase this past Wednesday as well.
