Attorney Charles Lee Mudd Jr. of Mudd Law, along with Shawn Stipe, will be speaking on “Staying Safe Online: Top Ten Tips for Parents and Kids” at MINECON 2016. The event will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center located at 800 West Katella Avenue Anaheim, California on September 24-25, 2016. Mr. Mudd will be speaking on September 24 at 6pm.
MINECON 2016 will gather users of the popular video game called Minecraft. The phenomenal game Minecraft lets users create their own three-dimensional generated worlds and experiences, using building blocks and other resources discovered in the game. According to Mojang, the creator of the game, over 106 million copies of the game have been sold worldwide to date.
The conference will also see its largest attendance to date, with 12,000 attendees expected for the sold out event. During his presentation, Mr. Mudd will educate parents and children on how to engage in safe online gameplay. Parents will obtain tips on keeping their kids safe in a safe and interactive manner. Children will also learn how to stay safe and involve their parents in their gameplay.
“The Internet and technology have combined to create exciting, innovative, and collaborative environments,” said Attorney Charles Lee Mudd Jr. “While online video games can be a creative outlet, as a parent, it is important to recognize safety concerns exist and implement practices to address these concerns without barring the use of technology and environments that represent a new era of supplemental education.”
Charles Mudd and Mr. Stipe will present guidelines for parents and children in a “Top Ten” format enabling audience members to obtain easily remembered take aways. Though obviously in the midst of the Minecraft world at Minecon, the principles discussed will extend beyond Minecraft to general online conduct and experiences.
Since 2001, Mr. Mudd has represented diverse individuals and business organizations on Internet, technology and cutting-edge legal matters. He frequently speaks to organizations and their members about online safety as well.
