This year’s Game Developers Conference (“GDC”) opened its doors today.  Numerous technology companies have unveiled upcoming products at the show in the past, and this year appears to be no exception.

Upload VR has reported that LG Electronics will be showing off a prototype headset at Valve’s GDC 2017 booth later this week.  HTC’s Vive is the only virtual reality device currently on the market to utilize Valve Corporation’s industry-leading Lighthouse tracking solution, however, it seems like it will only be a matter of time before other hardware manufacturers jump on board.  While LG’s headset’s specifications have yet to be confirmed, the likelihood of the device using Valve’s technology is incredibly high given where it is scheduled to be shown off.  Valve has described the headset as being a “next generation VR” product.

It will be exciting to see what LG’s VR headset brings to the table later this week. Mudd Law will continue to monitor announcements and other news items coming out of GDC 2017 as the week continues.
